It was considerate of you to ask Gilad's "permission", although the real owner of yours -- and his -- inspiration is the hotel's architect!
I like both of your interpretations, although your "slant", so to speak, serves as a dynamic counterbalance to the monotonous repetition of the boxlike balconies -- and the gaze of your solitary subject (perfectly offset) enforces this marvelous tension. Nice job!
If I ever make it to Tel Aviv, I think I'll have to see what sort of twist I can add to this series -- with your permission, of course!
